Hey folks.
For those of ya who don't know me, I'm Brandon Jenkins. I just joined the team today, and supposedly I'll be doing ship concept and modeling/uving/texturing said ships.

Hey gang. I cranked out the Tiazong Engine that John did. Took about 45 minutes to model and UV.

looks good so far but it would be easier and more useful for ya if you make the emitters a separate model, that way you can use it on all ships :)

Also, I think you could use colliding geometry here. Make some sleek high poly models like Reece and Kohl are doing and they can be retopologized later with Nex or Zbrush later. Break things up even more like Jiminez said and dont worry about topology just yet.

I agree with Atari, but make sure you save a low poly. I'd like to give something to Danny asap. What he wants is the model, diffuse, spec, and normal maps. Also we need a second uv set to test grunge and the like.
It doesnt have to be a final texture, just something for them to test with for now.

Alrighty.
I'll make a way higher res version of this model, and I'll keep the parts separate. I'll post it up when finished.

hey gang,
this is the NEW AND IMPROVED Taizon Reactor. New poly count is 1800, and there's a pretty simple base texture on it. The textured image is a screenshot with no lights! BAM!
Working on the Spec map now. I'll post up a render shortly.

Hey guys,
I don't know if I can keep working on Vega Strike for the remainder of the quarter. Midterms totally killed me, and if they're any indication to finals...then I don't think I'm gonna live..lol
I'm currently taking 3D Environments, Level Design, Intro to Scripting, and Senior project 2 (of which I am the level design lead) Scripting excluded, these classes are demanding a lot of work from me, and it's leaving no time to work on this project.
I do want to work on it, don't get me wrong...I'd just rather work on it when I have more time to devote to making my aspect of it look it's best.
I'm sorry to do this, but I must humbly back out for the remainder of the quarter. I should be able to pick it back up after finals with no problem.
