Well I need some help. Kinda new to character 3D Modeling and need some feedback.

I am kinda leaning towards the Megaman X8 designs.

Here is the rough concept art.

And here is the 3D model so far that I have. It is floating around 1k right now.

I know I need to work on the hips some more. I also need to find a way to work with the ankles some more. I am still not sure if I want to model the mouth.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome. I need all the help I can get. :)

I am thinking of just adding a bitmap to the face, still not sure.

Yep using 3ds max. I like it.

Not sure if I can bump my own topic.

Here is some recent changes to the model. I am requesting suggestions and comments from Polycount, so I hope that isn't against the rules.

I would like to hear suggestions or comments here as well.

The only thing I'd suggest for now is to watch for extraneous edge loops around areas like the forearms, fingers etc. I see places where there are edges that aren't defining shape. Just keep pluggin away at it, I like the design from what I've seen so far.

max! i learned it a long time ago but forgot it. =(

only critique would be to exaggerate the limbs a bit more (make the ends a tad fatter). while X8 is more human-like compared to the other games, they still exaggerate the limbs a bit. would make your char look more dynamic.

I am going to post a drastic change in poly count, but I am achieving the same form that is needed.

I am going to round out the face some more so that a Bitmap can be used. I am also considering having a low res texture, not sure though.

The Feet is a separate object right now because I am doing some work on it. The spiky part at the bottom of the hoodie is a an element with verts snapped onto the verts of the body. The hand is part of the body. I am going to drop detail on the hand to resemble the look of the concept art.

Don't know the best way to pose this....

Thanks amad and parker, I am going to still work on it the most I can. And hope I did took some of your suggestions in the new picture I put up.

Adding Biped to model.

Seeing if I need to change any of the polys if I see it is not bending correctly. After which I am going to add textures and than finally pose him.

his upper arms feel a tad blocky. I would add some more geo in there.

can you post silhouette shots of this guy by any chance? not sure how you do that in max...

gotta push the s curve in the profile shot a little more.

feels blocky in the silhouette, use your geo to round him out and give him a more organic feel...

S Curve, something like this? (attached)

I tried to round him out some more, but is this the right direction? (attached).

I believe Daniel is talking about this s-curve.

Maybe not as extreme, but you see what I mean.

Hi jnguyen3d!

I worked on the back to get the curve I think that was suggested. Should I also do it on the legs? Like around his torso a bit? Because I am planing to have a belt type design around there.

Sorry if I am doing this wrong, this is the first I been told to do this.

Is this what you wanted? Ignore the top, the body was detached. Should I keep pushing it out?
