I'm a wee late on this project, but I hope I can get about four of these done by the 20th. Here are the first two, a zombie pilgrim preacher whose kinda been scalped (If you don't like the concept I can give him a preacher's hat or a skull cap) and one of our hearty pioneer women carrying around severed limbs in her apron.

Any changes you suggest I make, I'll just incorporate into my orthos since I'm running kinda late.

Hi JClark,

I like both of these ideas, especially the preacher whose been scalped. You're very close to the art style already, but one thing that I would mention is the hands and feet should be larger (I'd say 2 or maybe even 3 times as large), and features in general should be more exaggerated. Since we're doing an iPhone game, the characters will end up being fairly small on screen. To make up for this, we need to blow everything almost out of proportion so that it will read.

Great concepts!

D'oh, forgot about this thread.

so what do you think? Should I scale up the hands, feet, head? I'm working on a couple of modifications for this guy, one of which is a pilgrim with a green coat, pilgrim hat, etc. Hopefully I can get the rest done in time.

Hello,

This is in a good place, but I would go back into the model and increase the secondary details to more closely match your concept. The clothing is too neat and pressed for a dead guy, add in some of the bumps and wrinkles that are seen in the concept art - especially along his arms and torso. Look at the models' silhouette and see if there is a way to make the model asymmetrical. This shouldn't require you to change the way that it's unwrapped since it is a geometry change.

You could make his arms a little longer and his hands bigger as well.

Looking great jclarke - keep up the good work!

Here is what I submitted for my final, but I'll be tweaking these guys some more tommorrow, and I'll take into account what you said, all I could do tonight was tweak the geometry a bit (ripped the back of the preachers coat, etc.)
