I thought I'd give this a go. Still thinking up more designs...

I'm really digging the cabaret dancer. If anything, I think you could play up the idea that she's a zombie by maybe giving her a ridiculously thin waist. Just an idea. Cowboy man, love the mustache, can't think of much to critique on that one.

awesome, so much character. Can you refine this a bit and perhaps do 2 variants of the burlesque / prostitute?

These are both perfect for rough sketches! Great concepts, and I like that we're getting some female zombies in here too.

Yeah, I agree with Dabu above - I'd love to see these refined just a bit but the concepts are spot on.

Nice work!

so great! Can you do some tight line drawn orthos for these? Figure one base model for each and a variant of each...

Hi Fionna!

I was nice to meet you on Friday!

These concepts are fantastic, I'm prepared to say "go for it" on getting these modeled. I know you might want to do some orthos for the modeler(s), but as concepts these are strong.

Fionna and I are doing a little collab so I modeled zombie girl 2(964tris) for her.

this is great so far, definitely looking forward to more. you could probably take out some edges in the hair if you wanted to save poly count for other areas. though, i assume you're not at the point of optimizing yet.

Nice job on the modeling Marlena :)
I'll be pulling up the file you emailed soon

And this is what I've done so far for the other zombie girl

way to rock it out. remember, no alphas on these guys, not sure if we can flag as 2 sided, but you'll have to account for those feathers sticking out of her head...

Hello,

Good work on these so far!

Dabu's right - we can't do alphas so you'll have to get creative with the feathers to get them to work. Totally doable - this is a common situation and a good one to have worked on before (should give you some good experience solving this problem, because it comes up a lot).

Here are three things that might help:

1. on the feathers, give them a little bit of a ridge in the middle - this is a good trick to use on any flat stuff to give it more of a three dimensional appearance. (see image attached)

2. add more feathers with their normals facing the opposite direction as the ones you have up there now. These should not be too close to the current feathers (to avoid Z-fighting), and in fact do not even have to be an exact mirror, just something so that when the model is viewed from the back the idea of feathers is still visible.

3. cutting geometry. remove a triangle or two from some of the polys extending to the edge of the plane, or break up the verts on the border edge of the plane and move them apart. (see image attached). Note that this can be done without altering your final triangle count, but you will end up with more vertices on your model (which doesn't really matter all that much in the vast majority of cases)

Hope this helps, and these models are looking great!

one zombie textured

I set the photoshop file in a way where you can customize and change the texture with some premade overlays and stuff. Of course the overlays themselves could be easily be tweaked with hue/saturation

I really like how you created a lot of variety off of minimal texture changes. I'm going to try doing that with my geometry to get more variety.
