Hey I just picked up maya 2010, and I cannot get the color/diffuse textures to show up in high quality mode. Has something changed since the 2009 version, or is there some setting I need to change?

i believe it has something to do with hardware texturing...I've had this happen to me before in the past...i just forget exactly how i fixed it...

Revert to 2009 :) It could be a video card conflict, a windows 7 (if you've pirated that) driver conflict, or any myriad of in betweens.

I would never pirate software from a struggling independent developer.

It is most likely a compatibility issue with my video card. (Nvidia 8800 gts) Others have reported the same thing. Reverting back to 2009 fixed the problem.

ok so i found your problem...its an attribute in your mesh

goto

pCubeShape1->mesh component display

now look under display color channel

you should see that display colors is checked..you can uncheck it and it should fix the problem

also you can mess around with the drop down menu...it looks like ambient and spec looks the same but you have it set to ambient + diffuse and thats whats causing the error..

no problem...im not sure how that happens but its good to know how to fix it when it does happen...
