Looking forward to modeling this redesigned Gutsman. He was a character that I also felt was too plain, so theres a lot of room for me to play with the design.

Here is my reference sheet. I think the old school Gutsman is really plain and I like the newer more detailed gutsman. For example the image of the one with the long arms and skinny legs. I want my proportions to say "powerful" too. So I've been using gorilla reference to get some of the powerful visual ques from that. Donkey Kong I think does that pretty well, so i got some reference of that too. And for secondary shapes and detail I wanted to use power tools. Lots of great reference in that area.

Here are some silhouettes. I numbered the ones I'm liking the best. But because this is a project a that really need to keep making forward progress on, I'm probably not going to do much exploring with number 2 and 3.

Here is a quick sketch of silhouette 1. Just to get a vision on paper and start playing with it.

That looks really damn cool man! I really like it :D
How were you thinking of incorporating the power tools? The tools themselves or more like how they are designed, like a character that looks like a power tool almost?

I plan on adding the powers tools by adding in some the artistic design of them. Pulling some of the interesting shapes and details from them. Mostly more organic areas instead of boxy. Hopefully the circled areas show what I'm looking for when I look at the reference.
