for some reason the maya program just required me to install license again. I dunno why but i tried that and i hate that. I cant figure how it works right. My question is why does maya required me to install license again when i already have maya working for while. Whats problem? I restart my computer and nothing happen.

Any idea?

Can I ask what version you have (2008, 2009?) and whether or not it's a student license? Or, did you go to the high seas for your copy?

i have version of maya 2009 and it is student version. I installed in my comp while ago and it worked perfectly fine until recently it went disappeared. It required me to re-installed the license again. I wonder why it does happen. So, i have to go through the trouble to request Autodesk to send me license, i guess and re-install the program again. It seem to be ok right now. I hope it stays in my comp. It was so so weird when it happened. I have no idea why. It does irriates me enough today. I hate maya for that.

Yeah... could speculate all day on that one. It could be a lot of things and it doesn't help that the student versions of Maya are really finicky when it comes to license verification. I had a student copy randomly start/stop working last semester. It happened a handful of times with no apparent reason.

I'd recommend you get away from the student version if possible. Even when it worked on my old PC, it was unstable and had export issues.

i get you. I didnt ask for student version, but just got one. I guess it just because I am currently student. I dont know why it does sell seperately from student version and non student version. That is really stupid to do. Ugh! I only have non student version is 8.5 for MAC and crack copy of maya 2008 on PC, and now maya 2009, student version. I got same version for max 2009. That is really lame. I need to learn how to use max anyway for great benefit and future game industry though. :-p

well they do that because the student version does not give you a commercial license. That said any student should have the most up to date version of maya available, even if they did purchace a student one a few versions back, ask around school and im sure youll have no problem "getting" a copy of maya or for that matter any other software you want. As far as i am concerned if you are not using it for commercial purposes there is no problem at all in getting a copy of a software by whatever means.
