View Full Version : Tecture not showing when light is being used

Hey guys working on a project involving normal maps and having some issues. When I put my road texture down and then try to preview it with high quality and a single point light it appears a s black. I Have tried replacing the geo and the texture both to no avail. any thoughts?

It could be a few things.

1. Delete History, rebuild the shader and reattach the textures.

2. Reverse the normals.

3. Export the geo and reload it in a new scene, then reapply.

This is usually caused by a memory deficiency. Not much you can really do except keep rebuilding shaders and reloading Maya.

i've had this happen to me tons of times...although i always forget exactly what it was i did to fix it...but im pretty sure it has to do with you shader network...like there might be too many nodes connected or something...its either that or there is an option in the mesh itself under "mesh component display" call display color channel...there is a box that can be checked on or off...
