View Full Version : The Slapchop has arrived
Just opened up the slapchop, and made my first meal with it.
It works reasonably well, you have to do a little prep before use depending on what it is you are slapchopping. Once you get the hang of it, its pretty handy.
The shamwow on the other hand, is still waiting to prove its worth...

Not really following crazes. I didn't know slap chop was a prize - shamwow, yes.
I got these old school methods, using this ancient tool called a 'knife'... I think i spelled that right (those prehistoric names elude me sometimes) :)

I just made some Zucchini Fritters and some Cheese bread that would have been a billion times easier with a slap chop.
Also, I just realized that you use the same olive oil as me! That was the cheapest I saw at the store, good eye! haha (btw it is still delicious).
Tomorrow night? Asparagus Fritata and left over cheesy bread!

olive oil is always good, but remember, the darker olive oil is better for eating while the lighter ones are far better for frying, has to do with the purity. Light oils have less biproducts and tend to be able to take more heat for longer, making them ideal for frying whereas darker oils tend to burn after the first batch of food. both are good though. Also olive oil is healthier to fry with, if you check nutrition facts all oils even corn and veggie have almost the same exact content all with no trans fats, however during the cooking process certain oils can produce trans fats, olive oil has a much better threshold for this making it alot healthier, you really have to use olive oil over and over before it starts to form trans fats. dont know why im posting this here guess im just bored.
