Suddenly my "Poly Count" and green selection color have vanished from my preview window.

I check Display>Heads Up>Poly Count and it is checked.

See attached.

HELP!

usually when weird stuff liek that happens, id opt to just initialize all the settings and see if it comes back.

funny story about that...
Everything works fine when I create a new scene.. so unless maya settings are some how tied to the .MA file itself I don't see how that would change anything.

I'll check it out once I've backed up my settings first.

Thanks,
S

~~~~RANT~~~~
I've heard the bloody "corrupt" word one too many times. It's not surprising this happens to my file after I've viewed it at AAU labs then bring it home. I swear that lab is a cesspool for bad file management and half encrypted network drives.
On that note...is a billion dollar industry really centered around a program which crashes consistently and has a habit of corrupting work? I'm pissed and my projects are a joke honestly. I hope this is just a product of a poor lab and not the alkalies tendon of the entire SFX world. I'll stab autodesk someday I swear.
do you have floating profiles at AI. Ive never seen this issue but im sure it can be resolved. And yeah maya can crash alot, but it tends to be tied to the hardware config and os combination then maya itself, maya runs so perfect on my new rig but i did have crashes on my old rig quite frequently, and also more corruption.
Some of you settings are saved in the ma file, especially display options like grid and wireframe on shaded stuff etc.
So the easiest solution so far is
Start new project
import old project
remap the textures
TADA!
I'm 400 over poly count... so ahahahahah for doing more work than needed.
Thanks for the replies.
Yeah floating profile of course! It's so freaking annoying, I can't even migrate my maya settings from class to class. Sometimes the desktop comes along sometimes not.
Mostly it just crashes... mostly.
But at home... NO PROBLEMS at all.
delete your personal setting at "C:\Documents and Settings\your id\My Documents\maya" and reboot maya.
then, delete all of your hypershade exept default, and re-make your texture in Hypershade.
