My current project. Body is very organic, so I detailed it in Zbrush, retopo in Topogun. Normal maps via maya's 'transfer maps'. Some normal detail missing from bike parts - will finish that in PS. Diffuse and spec on the way.

cool, are you going to do a series of these? Or a hangar / garage of some sort to store them in?

Actually, yes, it is a part of a recon/heavy artillery unit. There's a big 'truck' like vehicle that this will be a part of. They haul ass to the firing location, then the bike gets dropped and a spotter sets out to pin point the target(s).

here's my finished bike. I spent the last 2 weeks relocating and dealing with everything pertaining to that process, but now I finally got to finish this jet bike.

C&C welcome

P.S. Trying to upload a .zip of a turntable - it is under 4 Mb, thus within limit, but upload fails... What's the deelio, DB?

Hey George,

When uploading zips, you gotta be sure that your settings are just so. I remember trying to do it a few ways, and you have to use the fast compression mode, I believe it is. Something like 3 of the 4 settings will just give you errors and not upload. Just try different compression settings til something works.

I really dig your bike, especially the model and design. The only suggestion I have would be to add some kind of light where the hover mechanism is active... something to show that it's on or activated or running, be it a glow or some matter being projected from the hover pads. You could even animate some UVs on an alpha to get some really cool effects.

Uploading .zip, fingers crossed.... and fail. Eh w/e - it is going into my next reel revision, I will link it after that's done.

Att. Site hosts - need details on how to upload zips (or a fix)

Cheers,

Earthworm Jim is amazing and so is this bike.

As a matter of fact, Earthworm Jim was my main inspiration, then it made whoopee with a concept of a shrimp - thus this bike is AKA 'shrimp bike'

check me out @ http://geragundorov.com/ where u can find my reel

or go straight to it via http://geragundorov.com/videos/geraGundorov_3dArtist.mov

i don't have a standalone turntable of the bike, but it is the second model on the reel, you won't have to watch the whole thing (if u don't want to :) )

Interesting design i like the concept of the bike, but no the whole teeth textures.

It is like a cross between Jet Moto and Earth Worm Jim's hover bike, but you know what I like it.

Nice reel, you could shorten it a bit. Should be under 3 minutes.

I would lighten the forest scene a lot, I could barely make out what was going on. A simple ambient would work for that, add in some subtle blues.

Pick just one of the totems, and don't show the roots, they force you to crop the turnaround too small to see. Also, always start with the textured model and then breakdown to wireframe, etc...

Nice work, cool to see so much of my curriculum so well presented.

cheers

the reel is @ 2:30 right now... yes, I'll chop the roots.
