So finally a modeling update on my original character design for a class this semester.
Premise: Miniboss character for most likely a RPG or FPS where you battle the boss in a cavernous environment.
Character + Environment, Enviro is a WIP

Here's the Model+Wire. Going for 5000 faces (sitting at 5100 without cleaning up hidden faces). After some research and in a scene with 5 characters, the poly limit per character is suggested an average of 6000 faces.
The side mouths on the stomach will have minor animations. The thigh ones will be static.

tentacle hand is a bit too bulky. thats just my two cents. I would say the length is cool but it looks odd being so fat. check out some sort of plant that folds up i think it would look better if it came to more of a taper and if they fit together more perfectly to form a pod like shape. its looking cool though. I like how dull the teeth are makes it much more "golem" like than if they where sharp.

Finally an update!
Started Zbrushing for the normal. Mostly blocking and toying with detail (thigh mouth area). Haven't touched the arms yet so left those out. More to come http://gameartisans.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif
(smoothed just so you can check out the structure better)

The character model looks plastic.
The major forms and mass, doesn’t feel like heavy.
Because the character is a big fat monster try bending the legs to simulate the feel on heavy weight pushing down on them.
And making the fat body forms hang like bags from the skeleton will create the feel of heavy body.
The jaws on the legs look like they have been pasted on. It would look more convincing if the jaw anatomy would show through the skin on the leg somehow.
The pectorals forms are too smooth for this grimy fat beast.
Over all I think it is a cool concept.
Hope this helps.
Best.
