Here's a vehicle I'm designing for a portfolio piece. Also doing a side project that will be featuring this vehicle. Currently up rezzing it so I can cast normals to a low poly version. Started it last night and been working on it a bit today. I'll post up the next benchmark of adding a couple more props (shovel, panel, still deciding) when I hit it.

look at the back. Those three things on the back end look like counter balance weights....or are they?

Dabu, I'll post up a full set of orthos next time. I will be adding this to the set that the tank belong to but first I'm going to do a high rez version to do cast normals so I can do a normal mapped version on top of a hand painted version for my portfolio. Gotta make use of all the time spent modeling towards getting ready for GDC :).

Morgan, they are counterweights based off of the large cranes near the docks. I figured that they wouldn't be noticeable til I got to the texturing phase. So nice spot from these pictures.

I noticed the counter weights. I would try moving them back a bit off the back end so there is greater range of motion and to enforce the illusion of counterbalance.

cool.

latest and greatest. I added in a couple panels, props and the head lights. Still debating on what fits and what doesn't fit.

orthos. I have started to do some casting but i wanted to make sure I had everything modeled and up rezed so I could make sure to have a low poly counter part waiting for it.

stylistically, it may serve your piece to exaggerate the scale of the attached fuel tanks, and perhaps skew them slightly to make them more whimsical...
