I am looking for a feature that allows you to select multiple edge loops.
As far as I know, Maya only lets you select one at a time.

well. you know how to use the arrow keys to select edge loops and rings. also the edge loop selection tool can be useful for this. As far as selecting multiple loops in one click that is not so easy, but grow selection can work if you use it right. but in maya 2009 i know you can just double click an edge to select its loop. The mel scripts for an older version of mj poly should work in the newer versions of maya, and if not they would just need minimal tweaking.
you could try using mj poly in an older maya version then going to the script editor and copy the commands out and paste them into a new version of maya and then create a tool like that.

That tool has been integrated into Maya for quite a bit. Although 2008 expansion two's double click edge loop is a god sent.
Under the Select menu there should be all the "select Edge rings" and "Select edge loop" tools.
When those tools are active, double clicking on an edge will select that ring or loop, but unlike the double click edge looping, you can continuously select as many rings as you want.
MJ polytools is pretty much obsolete at this point. Everything that those tools did have been integrated into the core system now.
The only thing I miss from MJ polytools is being able to set a percentile to where my loops can be placed. As its a pain in the butt to try to guesstimate extra loops using the insert edge loop tool on a symmetrical model.
