Bio/Bile spitting mini-boss to "some" game. only the mouth on the front functions. Right now I am only planning on him spitting an attack, but may include some sort of devouring finishing move. He also has undeveloped tumor-esque mouth growths such as on his shoulder, legs, etc.

Hands are encased in their own "mouths" which open for him to use his actual hands... I may just make them mouths that can be used to grasp things instead.

great concept. I love these kinds of characters. However im gonna say that the side view needs to be reworked. I can see that it is sorta unresolved. From the side his center of mass is hanging out in front. so add some more weigh in his back either in the shoulders or make him have a fat but. would not hurt to beef out the legs some either. but again great character, would be sick all textured out and slimy looking.

yea definitely agree with the sideview, the center of mass will definitely be worked out, and thickening the legs is a good idea, and i will be adding a lot more mass to the shoulders and back, to keep the fat theme consistent.

what do you think about the arms/hands? i have been debating just making his hands "mouths" instead of a hand coming out of a mouth.

how about keeping the arms, and making secondary smaller mouths as surface features that match the contours of the larger muscles?

i'm definitely doing that, his stomach has two miniature ones on either side of the big one. the legs have them too. i'm also thinking about animated textures like Dead Space organics... only thing is that those were in environments only. probably wouldn't notice it much on a moving object.

well, it depends on how this thing moves through the game. If it lumbers, youll notice it. If its a fast moving spry character, it will just be a blur on screen...

I can see some sweet gameplay moments where it pauses to catch its breath, and you can see all the mouths breathing at once in sync with animation... that would be pretty epic.

Are his nipples eyes? That would be cool...

ooooo that would be worth teasing, hahah, it may be more comedic but might's well keep going with the tumor theme and add them, thanks for the suggestions

i definitely need to do something with the back too, maybe line each side of the back with teeth.

well about the arms hands mouth thing. I love the ideas of the mouths inside of the hands, i did that to like half the creatures i made in spore. Only thing i could imagine being an issue with that is rigging. But if you handle the hands as more of a pincer then it should be doable. having more than 3 or 4 fingers will make it hard. but keeping it with maybe 2 smaller fingers and one larger mitten like finger would be pretty easy to do and would not look to weird either. The mouths on his hands would have to be functional even if it was just for ripping flesh apart, or getting a drink of uh.... water. The animated textures are a great idea, you could even animate the normal map to pulsate, or could just animate the geo. And Maybe to kill this thing you would throw something into its main mouth that would make it die from the inside out, as it does this all of the various mouths would spew bile and blood as the creatures insides come out. I know thats sort of creepy but it would be so cool.

yeah funny thing was i ws not sure if his pecks where his browline at first then i saw the head but his nipples being eyes or some sort of odd feeler, antenna would be cool.

i like making twisted sh** so nothing's too gross (loved dead space). was definitely going to animate the geo on some parts. and the best way to have this guy is a nasty 'splosion so i'm with you there. i agree on keeping the fingers minimal, and making it more pincer-like could be a good compromise in function. i think i may keep them as mouth-hands instead of hands in a mouth to keep polys for more detail, i'll see how it goes when i get to modeling i suppose.

Here's the environment I'll be putting him in, basically an organic cavern with a similar theme. The roof is open, thus allowing light in, allowing some good spec contrast with all that slime matter.

I have to include one prop, and I'm not really keen on giving this miniboss a weapon. I'm thinking that maybe I can give the environment a "prop" for interaction. Other than that I suppose I could make a weapon from a fallen hero.
