Hello Everyone

Just finished a contract project from http://www.simthetiq.com

They had certain requirements and demands that I wasn't 2 familiar with.
They wanted 2048x2048 for truck body, another 2048x2048 for missle silos, 1024x1024 for the wheels. 3 separate diffuse textures! Weird! but I did as they asked. They also asked for 24 sided wheels which really brought the tris count high with 8 wheels.

Total Tris was 15173

They gave me 3 weeks to complete a vehicle. Going rate was 500. Not enough to pay off them academy art school loans but definitly didn't hurt to get paid to make a portfolio piece.

They were impressed and satisfied so that made me happy.

Had a job interview at http://www.amegames.com couple of days ago. Hopefully they call me back.

Comments and critiques welcomed.

How's everyone else doing and any other alumi on this board? Whats dabu been up to?

It looks really amazing, but I wish that the silos down at the center would not have the same highlights as the ones on the outside. They'd be more in shadows, I think. I'm sure gamers would not even notice it though.

good point. I baked 3 outside silos and should've baked at least 1 inside silo. I think i can just paint over 1 of the silos for more shadows and rearrange them.

Jealous - I really need to bust my chops on some hi poly vehicle work. Ill be asking you for advice.

Want to get paid to come in and do a demo here at Academy for one of my classes?

the poly count feels low for the amount of texture space, the lights on the front don't look modeled in...

nice work.

Fantastic work Andy.

This would go very well with your apatchy, even though I think this is a US vehicle (if i'm not mistaken.)

Fantastic work Andy.

This would go very well with your apatchy, even though I think this is a US vehicle (if i'm not mistaken.)

Ya the helicopter I did was a hind- 24 russian. Same with this missle truck its also russian. So ya both russian vehicles should go well with eachother :)

I noticed russians like to make their vehicles bigger and more menancing looking then the usa counterparts.

DABU- Sure I don't mind giving a demo for one of your classes. I'll send you PM for more details.

Naw, we're just not too concerned with miniaturization (and they are 20 years behind in design over there)

oh just came across this great work Andy i knew you would have no problem finding some sort of work. Those are awesome requirements too really let you go all out and make a fantastic looking model. And yeah those Russian vehicles where always beefy, tough terrain, tough vehicles, vodka powered, oh yeah.
