I am doing the bombed out car. I started modeling it and am around halfway done. The poly count for this one is 750. I currently have 322 faces and 642 triangles.

Hi Marquis,
All the faces/polygons will have backface culling in our game. This means half of your car will become invisible if we put it in as its built now.
see example in image below.

You're gonna need to add flipped polygons next to the existing ones. When you do this always keep them slightly apart. Some game engines act up when u have 2 polygons perfectly on top of each other. ( tech: it needs differences in vertex positions to calculate sorting depth )

It is possible to create double-sided polygons/faces in games. But it won't work with lighting. Shadows in a game are realtime generates shadow map textures added on top of the 3D model.
Picture a double-sided polygon with one side(front) facing a light source. The back will have a shadowmap added. This shadowmap will also be visible on the front side since they share the same texturespace.

I tried to create some screenshot examples in our game engine, but I'm not sure how helpful they really are... but here goes. :lol:

Further along and started adding backfaces. I also am mostly finished with the uvs.

youll need to add some interior faces, I can show you in class....

not a super big deal, but you will have to lose a few polies here and there to do it...

Here it is with the geometry edited and textures are about halfway done. Triangle count is at 742. Any comments about the texture work would be greatly appreciated.

looking really solid. I would make the tail lights look like they were removed, like the front of the car. Doesn't quite read there, otherwise, looking strong overall.

id say your pretty much done... what happens when you add a little blue to the grey part so they are a little closer in color?
