Since I am doing a coffee shop, I figured I might as well do the coffee maker as well.

looking good so far. I'd add more dimension in the texture. in the reference photo theres a rim around the top of the coffee maker. a simple drop shadow and edge highlight would make that really pop. I'd also consider adding a rim to the bottom also.
it doesn't show it in the photo, but a lot of coffee makers have a bar (looks like the old-fashioned mercury thermometers) that show how much water is in the reservoir.
an on/off switch, company logo, metal band on the carafe, and lines on the carafe to show how much coffee is in it would really go a long way to sell this as a real coffee maker. I can already smell the columbian blend!
