If your thinking of becoming a character artist, LEARN YOUR ANATOMY. I cannot stress enough just how important it is to have a firm knowledge of anatomy when working with characters not just for rigging, but also for modeling.

While more of a Resource then a tutorial, I found this sight while trying to figure out how to correctly spell the name of a muscle group and think its a great format and has just the right amount of detail to have it be an easy resource and reference guide for those trying to brush up on their anatomy.

Its from a yoga sight but the layout is very simple, and thorough enough for it to be very helpful for anyone.

Enjoy.

Any books by Andrew Loomis are also excellent resources for anyone who wants to learn anatomy. The are all out of print, but you can download them for free as ebooks. Not only is he one of the best when it comes to drawing, but his writing will actually give you additional insight to drawing. Here is a site you can get them if anyone is interested. "Figure Drawing for All Its Worth" and "Drawing the Heads and Hands" are particularily good.

Andrew Loomis books are pretty much the holy grail of art books, and they are definatly a "MUST READ" for anyone trying to become a professional artist. I think they are the only book that everyone can unanimously recomend. But this website is pretty handy for just quick "recaps" on anatomy reference for those that don't wish to pull out a full tome.

For those of you that go to the Academy of Art University, the illustration department has digital versions of the entire collection of Loomis books available to their students for I think 5 bucks. Going to the illustration department office in the Powell building and ask anyone there and they should be able to hook you up.
