I seem to be having this problem with Maya not recognizing PS layer effects. Whenever I apply a layer effect in PS such as Bevel and Emboss, save it, and update the PSD file in Maya it gives me a message such as this Warning: Maya does not support Object-based Effects which may be present in the layer Layer 7 in the file carUV6.psd I was wondering if there was an option in Maya that can detect these layer effects or if there was some other way around this problem. As of right now Im having to export certain such layers as jpg's then bring em back in for it to show up properly in Maya.

U using a pSD network? I would just load the psd as a regular file and save in pshop, then reload in maya to see changes

I wouldn't expect Maya to be able to recognize tons of Photoshop effects. Its safest to use flat images for mapping imo.

While true, It is more continent to simply work with the PSD when your simply doing some "spot checking" on the texture in Photoshop.
